● Preparation of brain slices from hippocampus and cortical regions.

● Patch clamp recording of synaptic currents and responses evoked by glutamate application.

● Analysis of pharmacological effect of novel ionotropic glutamate inhibitors with focus on the NMDA receptor channel type.

● Establishment of different novel assays to monitor for neuroprotective activity.

● Functional analyses and cellular signaling pathways.

● Supervision of students and technical staff.

● Independent writing of scientific manuscripts.

Your Qualifications

● Applicants must hold a PhD in a biological science, preferably in the areas of glutamate receptor biophysics and/or steroid physiology/pathology.

● Be familiar with relevant experimental techniques, or have an interest in the molecular basis of neurotransmitter function.

● The candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills.

Our Offer

● Working in an innovative, well- equipped and scientifically stimulating surrounding.

● Further training opportunities.
